Professor Trampusch holds the Chair of International Comparative Political Economy and Economic Sociology at the Cologne Center for Comparative Politics (CCCP), University of Cologne.
Professor Trampusch received her habilitation in 2006 in political science from the Georg-August-University of Göttingen. Between March 2007 and June 2011 she researched and taught as assistant professor for comparative politics at the Institute for Political Science, University of Bern. Prior, she has already spent several years in Cologne working in the research group of Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. Wolfgang Streeck at the Max Planck Institute for the Study of Societies. She received her doctoral degree in 2000 from the Georg-August-University of Göttingen with a doctoral fellowship of the German Research Foundation (Graduate School “The Future of the European Social Model”). Before this fellowship she worked as a research fellow at the Central Department for Statistics and Evaluation of the Bavarian Employers’ Association. In 1995 she received her Master of Arts degree in Political Science and Economics from the University of Regensburg.
Since 2011 Professor Trampusch has been a full professor at the University of Cologne. Her professorship is also the Liaison Chair to the Max Planck Institute for the Study of Societies (Brückenprofessur). Her research covers studies on the social and political foundations of labor markets and financial markets in advanced capitalist democracies. In doing so, she assumes that the analysis of capitalism comprises more than the analysis of exchange and allocation processes on markets. Currently, she (co-)leads two third-party funded research projects: “Municipalities and their Expectations on Pay-Offs of Swap Deals (MUSWAPS)” and “GOVPET: Governance in Vocational and Professional Education and Training”.
In 2017 she was Visiting Scholar at the School of Social and Political Science, University of Edinburgh, United Kingdom, in 2016 Guest Professor at the University of St. Gallen (HSG), Switzerland, and in 2015 and 2013 she was Visiting Researcher at the Department of Politics, University of Otago, Dunedin, New Zealand.
